Police incident sends Duncan man to hospital with serious injuries

A Duncan man who crashed a track loader skid-steer into a police vehicle was sent to hospital with serious injuries after being shot by an officer during the incident.

RCMP was alerted of a man driving a track loader skid-steer down a residential street around 9:15 pm on Wednesday evening. Officers attempted to get the driver to stop, which led to the man crashing into police vehicles.

As the police continued to attempt and stop the man, an officer discharged his weapon and struck the man, who would then be sent to hospital with serious injuries.

RCMP later notified the Investigations Office of British Columbia (IIO BC) of the incident and the investigation is ongoing.
