As the school year is coming to an end and students are preparing for summer, the Kamloops RCMP wants to help kids jump on their bikes with safety in mind.
From 11 am to 3 pm on June 3, bike riders of all ages and abilities are invited to grab their wheels and helmets and head to a start-of-the-summer bike rodeo at the Stuart Wood basketball court.
The Kamloops RCMP Crime Prevention Unit is teaming up with the City of Kamloops, ICBC, Bike Coalition and local bike clubs for the free drop-in event.
It is intended to help participants brush up their skills and enter the school break with riding confidence.
“An obstacle course, bike inspection, helmet fitting, free giveaways, and tons of fun await Kamloops cyclists at the rodeo,” said Cpl. Dana Napier of the Kamloops RCMP Crime Prevention Unit.
“We are working at creating safety and confidence in our young riders."
The event will be located at 245 St. Paul St.
