UPDATE: Crews locate missing man in Okanagan Mountain Park

(UPDATE: Aug. 11 @ 3:20 pm)— The missing man that the Central Okanagan Search and Rescue team was looking for in Okanagan Mountain Provincial Park has been found.

In an update to their social media post from earlier today, COSAR stated that the individual was located using an RCMP helicopter.

Because he had numerous injuries, Penticton Search and Rescue’s Helicopter External Transport System team airlifted the subject to a waiting ambulance.

“Apparently, he went for a hike near Buchan Bay late last night and fell,” adds the post.

“We got the call this morning when he didn't return to camp."

(Original story: Aug. 11 @ 2:20 pm)—The Central Okanagan Search and Rescue team is currently searching for a missing person in Okanagan Mountain Park.

According to a social media post, the missing male was last seen near Buchan Bay.

COSAR added that it is searching the area by boat, ground, and bike, as well as a helicopter team has also responded.

Buchan Bay is one of the seven boat-in campgrounds the provincial park offers and it is located in the southwest corner of the park.
