PentictonNow followed along last May, as we try to do every year, when crews installed the 2022-23 edition of the Penticton Public Sculpture Exhibit along the Okanagan Lake waterfront.
It was, as always, a ton of fun seeing the new crop being offloaded from cranes and trucks and onto their display positions. They'd remain there for a year, before the next annual crop would appear.
And that time is now. In just four days, on April 24th, the 2022-23 sculptures will disappear. And nearly a month after that, on May 19th, the 2023-24 batch will materialize.
So if you haven’t seen them yet, here's your chance.
The People's Choice award winners for 2022-23 were "Pearl the Pandemic Salmon" by Kaleden's Jean E Ouellon (1st place), "What Does the Nose Know?" by Vancouver's Ron Simmer (2nd place) and "Murphy" by Victoria's Laurel Dinney (3rd place).
Anyone interested in purchasing any of the sculptures can inquire at [email protected].
Going forward, PentictonNow will effort to give readers the first glimpse of the new sculptures as they are positioned in May.
