The annual Central Okanagan MS Walk is happening this weekend.
It will take place on Saturday at Gellatly Nut Farm in West Kelowna, with the check-in process beginning at 9 am.
There will be a few speeches and a witness warm-up shortly before the walk begins at 10 am, with people setting off on one of two routes.
There’s a two-kilometre walk that heads west toward Pebble Beach Park and a five-kilometre walk that goes the other direction to Rotary Park.
Participants are welcome to choose whichever route works best for them.
Canada has one of the highest rates of MS (multiple sclerosis) in the world, with an estimated 90,000 Canadians living with the disease.
Central Okanagan residents have already raised more than $15,000 for the MS Society of Canada in the lead up to this event, with a goal of $25,000.
