(Update: May 26, 2023 @ 11:15 am): A man from Saanich who was reported missing was confirmed to have been killed in a collision near Boston Bar.
Leslie Desfosses, age 89, was travelling to Lytton, and was last seen in Hope on May 19, 2023.
Police have confirmed that Desfosses was killed in a single vehicle rollover close to the Anderson River Bridge near Boston Bar..
His vehicle had been travelling Northbound on Hwy 1, left the roadway and ended up flipped over in the ditch. He was the lone occupant and was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The Hope RCMP would like to express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Leslie Desfosses on this tragic incident," said Sgt Mike Sargent of the Hope RCMP in a statement.

Police are looking for a missing man who was travelling to Lytton, but failed to arrive.
Leslie Desfosses, age 89, has been missing from Saanich since May 16.
He was driving to Lytton, and is believed to have stopped in Hope in the late afternoon.
Desfosses has white hair and a mustache, and was driving a grey 2012 Subaru Forester, BC plate 925SLA.
