(UPDATE: Dec. 5 @ 3:50 pm) - FortisBC has restored power to nearly all who lost it in Black Mountain this afternoon.
Around 3:40 pm, power was restored for 241 of 254 FortisBC customers who lost it shortly after 1 pm today.
According to the utility provider's website, just 13 properties remain in the dark at this time.
There is still no confirmed cause of the outage, but residents in the area reported a loud bang and smoke coming from a power pole on Loseth Road around the time the lights went off.
(Original story: Dec. 5 @ 2 pm) - FortisBC says 254 customers in the Black Mountain area of Kelowna are without power this afternoon.
The outage is affecting residents south of Hwy 33 who access their properties via Loseth Road.
Along with Loseth Road, Lynrick Road, Fulmer Road, Autumn Road, Kloppernburg Road, Sunrise Road, Verdure Road and Verde Vista Road are also affected.

Members of the Black Mountain Community group on Facebook are speculating that it could be a while before things are fixed.
One resident wrote that he heard a loud bang and saw smoke coming from a power pole on Loseth Road.
However, he also reported that a FortisBC crew had just arrived at the scene and was already working on the repair job.
The power went out shortly after 1 pm and there is no estimate from FortisBC as to when it might be restored.
