More rooms.
More food.
More comfort, convenience and hospitality.
More meeting space.
More awards.
And, even a canine ambassador.
This week the Four Points by Sheraton Kelowna Airport showed off its 55-room expansion with an official grand opening.
The grand opening included the requisite ribbon cutting, tours of the hotel and new rooms and eats and drinks at Gulfstream, including the best-in-BC Caesar cocktail by bartender Wyatt Cooper-Brown.
"The Four Points continues to exceed all expectations and stands out in one of Canada's most competitive hospitality markets," said Ted Callahan, owner and CEO of Argus Properties, which owns and operates the Four Points.
Kelowna-based Argus Properties was a trailblazer a decade ago when it recognized Kelowna International Airport needed a hotel and the 120-room Four Points was built across the highway.
The expansion unveiled this week includes 55 more rooms, bringing the total to 175 rooms, an expanded ballroom, two new meeting rooms and a doubling of Gulfstream's kitchen.
Besides providing the food and drink for the restaurant, lounge and room service at Four Points, Gulfstream also does a whack of catering -- for the neighbouring Hampton Inn & Suites (which is also an Argus property), for airlines that fly in and out of Kelowna airport, nearby UBC Okanagan and the KF Aerospace Centre for Excellence, which is located beside the airport.
Four Points isn't just an airport hotel, it's high-profile location just off busy Highway 97 near UBC Okanagan also means its the choice of leisure, business and university travellers.
Argus likes to brag that the Kelowna Four Points is consistently ranked in the top 5 of all Four Points properties in Canada and it has one of the highest occupancy rates in the city.
The expansion was also completed five months ahead of schedule and on budget.
The local Four Points also has a canine ambassador, of sorts.
Winston, the big, handsome, friendly, yellow Labrador retriever is the doggy ambassador at one of Argus' other hotels -- The Eldorado.
But, he makes special guest appearances at the Four Points.
The Kelowna Four Points has also won Marriott's 'operations manager of the year' award for three years in a row.
The latest was for Ahmad Taher Saleh, who is the operations manager at both the Four Points and the Argus-owned-and-operated neighbouring Hampton Inn & Suites.
Argus also recently earned Gold Seal Employer status from the Canadian Construction Association.
Jason Guyitt is the general manager at both the Four Points and the 140-room Hampton Inn.
Four Points one of the 36 hotel and timeshare brands under the massive Marriott umbrella that includes Sheraton, Delta, Fairfield, Ritz-Carlton, W, Westin, Le Meridien and more with 9,000 locations and 1.6 million rooms worldwide.
Argus also owns and operates Manteo Resort, which is right next door to The Eldorado, as well as an extensive portfolio of apartment buildings and commercial property.
