A lengthy closure of a small section of Ogden Road begins this morning.
Crews will shut down the street between Boucherie Road and Ourtoland Road at 7 am as they begin work to complete the installation of water transmission mains.
Trevor Drive, Guidi Road and Hudson Road will be used to detour traffic between Ourtoland Road and Boucherie Road.
The closure will be 24/7 for a month before it opens back up to vehicle traffic on June 30.
A full closure is necessary to allow crews to complete deep excavation work as quickly as possible without putting the public at risk.
The timeline is subject to change due to a number of factors including weather conditions and contractor schedule changes.
“After completing the transmission mains work, crews will transition to connecting the newly installed mains to the Menu Road reservoir and pump station,” the City of West Kelowna explained.
Motorists are urged to reduce their speed and follow directions from traffic control personnel in the area.
